List Services/Specialties: The Certified Addictions Nurse Specialist (CARN) integrates strong medical/surgical and behavioral health nursing skills with knowledge of addictive diseases and treatments to optimize patient care and recovery outcomes.

While the primary goal is to change the culture of caring for patients with addiction by promoting understanding and knowledge of addiction as a chronic disease, including reducing the stigma associated with it, this nurse specialist is also on the frontline in the community acting as a resource for the education and prevention.

Behavioral Health Navigators provide comprehensive services to behavioral health patients in crisis who present in the Emergency Department. They are highly skilled, licensed mental health professionals dedicated to bridging the gap between physical health and behavioral health in order to improve health outcomes and quality of care.
