Breakfast event raises $4,000 for youth mental-health programs

Abbotsford News - 12/7/2019

The second annual It's a Wonderful Breakfast raised more than $4,000 on Thursday (Dec. 5) for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley (BBBSFV)

More than 100 people attended the event at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

The festive breakfast event included a special Christmas performance by the dancers at VELA Academy of Movement while guests enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, fruit and more, provided by Sodexo.

This year's funds go towards supporting youth mental health programs.

"The generosity of the people in Abbotsford amazes me," said Liz Harris, executive director of the FVHCF. "This event is a fantastic way to get into the Christmas spirit."

Guest speakers included Marco Iannuzzi, former wide receiver for the BC Lions, and MC was Trevor McDonald.

The FVHCF raises funds for vital equipment and programs in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
